Crackers

No, not Florida rednecks. Crackers – the thin, cheesy wafer sandwiches with cheese or peanut butter between them. I’m a cheese on cheese (Nipchee) man myself. I’ve never been a huge peanut butter fan (Toastchee). But crackers, like beer, are an essential part of any golf outing. Crackers are transportable, sharable (there are usually about six to a pack), and tide you over until the turn or the 19th hole. If you’re like me, come the 6th hole you feel like you’ve already played nine, so crackers give you that extra boost.

As for brands, I’ve always been a Lance’s fan but the vagaries of food distribution might make them unavailable in your area so go with what works. Just avoid cream cheese or other fillings or crackers that seem a little too frou frou (that’s French for “hoity-toity”, which is also French for “too fancy for your pedestrian palate”).
